Batam Trip!
batam was awesome! haven had so much fun in years. all the short trips to malaysia just can’t compare.
meet up with min hui and ridwan in the morning on sat at woodlands and took the train down to habourfront together where reyner, gregor, stefan, maria, anne, and aleksi were waiting for us. bought the ferry tickets and duty free alcohol. went up on to the upper deck and had a nice long nap on the ferry ride.
upon reaching, we were greeted by ronnie, ridwan’s driver. we had 3 cars to take us anywhere we wanted to go. the drivers had already prepared 24 cans of beer for us. first stop was lunch. the number of dishes served was just crazy. the waiter carried more than 20 plates of dishes at one go. lunch wasn’t exactly so fantastic. moving on, we tried to check in to a normal hotel which charges roughly 50 bucks per night but the exchange students wanted to beach. so we moved over to harris instead. there wasn’t exactly any beach though.
harris cost 138 bucks per night. so reyner, ridwan, min hui and me decided that we could all squeeze into a single room to cut cost. upon reaching the room, cans of beers were open. and the drinking started. headed down to the pool after a while and played basketball. the game was simply intense. headed out for some watersports nearby. ridwan, gregor, stefan, aleksi, maria and anne went to kayak while reyner, min hui and me went parasailing. it just felt awesome being lifted into the air. like all worries are gone and you are free to fly.
after washing up, we headed to indothai for the best massage i’ve ever gotten my whole life. feeling all relaxed, we headed to A1 for dinner. food was nice and cheap there. it was the beer that added up to the cost mostly. headed down to a pub and had a VIP room. the whole bunch enjoyed singing. min hui and me went down to the dance floor. cant believe that the songs played there appeals more to me as compared to the clubs in singapore. we didnt dance though. wasn’t exactly comfortable there.
reached back to the hotel all dead tired, we simply knocked out. reyner left at 5.30am to head back to singapore. by the time we got up, it was 11am. washed up and prepared to check out. the exchange students decided to stay and hang out at the swimming pool. while the 3 of us decided to head to nagoya hills for hair cuts and some shopping. had another round of massage which kinda suck. headed to BCS to buy some tibits and snacks to bring back to sg. ended up with me and ridwan each buying a carton of instant noodles.
well. nice ferry ride back and I spent a total of 295 bucks over the 2 days trip. still feel the trip was worth while though ^.^
missed MY during the trip. perhaps I’m too used to having you by my side ^.^
